Take Time to Plant a Seed of Laughter
Over the past three months, I’ve engaged in a heartfelt reflection on my creative journey, celebrating the milestones I’ve reached while contemplating the exciting projects that lie ahead. I pour my energy into financing and producing my passion: the joyful art of bringing laughter to our wonderfully unpredictable world. I’ve come to a liberating realization: I don’t need to confine my creativity to rigid timeframes. By embracing my own rhythm, I’ve learned to savor my achievements more deeply. The urgency to complete a film or book by a demanding deadline is slowly but surely dissolving.
At 60, I’m discovering the beauty of pausing to appreciate the moment, rather than sprinting to plant one project after another. For so long, I felt compelled to create at breakneck speed to stay relevant. Yet, with each passing year, I find comfort in being accepted for who I am, rather than solely for what I’ve accomplished.
Just as I embrace this new approach to my mission of nurturing laughter, I can think of no better time than fall to plant the seeds of creativity. I’m currently tending to the delightful ideas of a comedy cookbook and a short film, taking my time to relish my achievements, cherish my friends and family, and fully embrace the joys of life.
Stay tuned and keep laughing,
- David
